Eye of the Tiger Survival Challenge

Have The Guts? Get the Glory (And the Cash)!

Wave House Durban is looking for 16 brave challengers to duke it out for the inaugural Eye of the Tiger Survival Challenge taking place on September 26. The intrepid ensemble will face seven tasks of physical endurance, mental anguish and personal victory. Things get very messy for the losers of each round including mud pits, the occasional firing squad and the embarrassment of losing in front of a crowd.

"We're always on the lookout for something different and entertaining," Said Ryan Watkins, marketing manager in Durban. "and this is definitely both. It'll be a lot of fun for spectators and participants alike. We're going for a cross between Survivor's immunity challenges and Takeshi's Castle, with a healthy dose of crowd participation."

Every task will see one winner take the task prize and there will also be either two or three people eliminated from each round. For the ultimate victor there is over R50 000 in cash and prizes to be won. There are also prizes for the winner of every task.

Here's an idea of what's in store (we don't want to give too much away)

  1. Rising up, straight to the top - Balancing Act. Simply balance your way through this round.
  2. Did my time, took my chances - Stand Your Ground Think of the movie Dodgeball – only better.
  3. Just a man and his will to survive - Hanging Around. How long can you hold on for?
  4. Have the guts, got the glory - Eat at Pace. Nothing gross, the opposite actually, but you gotta eat fast to win!
  5. Rising up to the challenge of our rival - Brainiac. True or False! Very easy. Only if you get the answers right, or you'll wind up with egg on your face.
  6. Went the distance, now I'm not gonna stop - The Gauntlet. A simple boot camp obstacle course – can you go faster than the others?
  7. The last known survivor stalks his prey in the night - The Pool. Pull three matching items out of the pool and you are the champion!

Every contestant also gets a free day to use the attractions at Wave House for them and a friend, meaning that no one leaves empty handed. The questions is: Do you have what it takes? Do you have the Eye of the Tiger?
