17 year old Bruticus wonder boy, Eric Silverman, made Flowboarding history last week when he nailed a Strapless Rocket Air Front-flip. Encouraged by fellow rider Brandon Stevens, Eric attempted the trick and crushed it after less than fifteen tries. He says that his next step could be anything and that his creativity, so far as the sport is concerned, is truly limitless.
This is the first time a strapless front flip has been landed on the FlowBarrel® and subsequently, strapless riding has reached an entirely new level. Eric says that this proves the potential of the wave and that "the possibilities are endless when it comes to the future of Flowboarding." He's stoked to keep growing the flowriding name and hopes that eventually, it will be big enough for riders to make a living from riding the WaveLoch waves.
He describes the trick nonchalantly, saying that he starts out in the barrel and comes out as if he were going to do a regular air. As soon as he hits the lip though, he throws his body forward with the board below him. Mid-way through the flip, he pushes the board back farther beneath his feet to land and complete the trick.
This major milestone awards Eric, already one of the top riders in the world, international acclaim for being the first person to land a strapless front flip in any water board sport. Wave House and WaveLoch congratulate Eric on this incredible accomplishment.
