Singapore's Qualifier Determines in FLOW Championships and Asian FLOW Series Competitors

On Saturday, 3 September, local Singaporian riders competed in the Billabong Asian Flow Series Qualifier, presented by Sony Ericsson, at Wave House Sentosa. This event was a qualifying competition which resulted in two teams of Sentosa's best riders; one for the FLOW Championships, taking place at Wave House Durban in South Africa beginning October 5, and one for the Asian FLOW Series, taking place at Wave House Sentosa on October 1.

The Asian FLOW Series is in its first year and spices up the sport of flowriding in Asia by bringing riders from four Asian regions to compete for the title of Asian Flow Series Champion. In addition to Singapore, Malaysia, Australia and Saipan will all hold qualifiers and the winners of each will meet at Wave House Sentosa to determine the best of the best. The resulting winners will form a team and travel to the FLOW Championships to compete as the Asia FlowRider Team in the FlowRider competitions against a USA FlowRider Team and a Europe FlowRider Team.

The FLOW Championships is in its third year and brings riders from across the globe to compete on both the FlowBarrel and FlowRider wave machines. In addition to Singapore, USA, South Africa, UAE and Chile all held qualifiers to determine their representatives who will compete in both the FlowBarrel and FlowRider competitions at Wave House Durban.
