Team U.A.E Ready to Go to Durban for the FLOW Championships

The 2011 Pepsi Flowboarding Championships were held at Wild Wadi Waterpark on the 8th and 10th of September to choose the U.A.E team to represent at the World FLOW Championships at Wave House Durban in South Africa on 7-9 October.

With two of the top riders from Team South Africa, Billy Tennant and Paolo Falconer, judging the competition, the riders knew they had to perform their biggest moves to show them what U.A.E riders are made of. And that is exactly what the crowd favorite and U.A.E national Moh’d Ibrahim did to secure 1st place in the bodyboarding division.

In the stand up division, Wild Wadi sponsored 14-year old Max Sokolov from Russia had the crowd glued to their seats with his back flip and clean turns. He made first place with Wild Wadi’s very own riding instructor, Felino Fontanilla from the Philippines, coming in second after pulling off clean air 180s on the FlowRider.

For the girls, top rider Clair Reid from Wild Wadi, who represented the U.A.E team in last year’s FLOW Championships, placed 5th and will join Moh’d Ibrahim, Max Sokolov and Felino Fontanilla in flying the U.A.E flag high at the World Flow Championships.
