Seventh Stop of US Flow Tour - Moses Lakes, WA

Summer has arrived to Moses Lake, Washington, home to the 7th stop on the Wave Loch Flow Tour.

One of the newer venues to hold a Flow Tour stop, Moses Lake was added to the tour only one week before last weekend's competition. Surf n’ Slide Municipal Park really stepped up and hosted a great event. 32 riders, half of which were local ripper’s, rode in this competition and solidified a name for Moses Lake, as this was their first Wave Loch event since opening. With AA points up for grabs, riders representing seven states from Florida and Texas, to Idaho and Oregon showed up to shred.

Kicking off with sunny skies at 1:00pm, the park was buzzing with onlookers as the riders warmed up prior to the event. The young gun bodyboarders started off the spray, riding well beyond their years. The juniors division followed suit, with local ripper Josh Snook taking 1st in the flowboard and 2nd in the bodyboard. From the young guns to the masters division, 35 + years old, riders showed the crowd that flowboarding is a sport for all ages. Shaun Hancock from Ogden, Utah took home the gold in both flowboard and bodyboard. Another highlight was the female flowboard round where Dee Daniels, a relatively new rider, took on Amanda McCormick, current leader in the tour standings. Dee showed some BMT and pulled off some crisp acid drops and 180 shuvits to take home the gold. Saving the best for last, the expert division had the crowd in disbelief as kickflips, big spins and varial flips were rampant. With no surprise, overall bodyboard point’s leader Nick Nguyen took home the gold as overall flowboard point’s leader Sean Silveira glided into first place as well.
