Silveira & Nguyen Win Expert Divisions at Second Stop of Tour at Massanutten Resorts, VA

Massanutten Resorts, VA May 1st , 2010:  Massanutten Water park was the site for the second stop of the Wave Loch Flow Tour as 100 riders turned out from 12 states for the competition.  With a $ 2500.00 cash purse at stake for the Experts, as well as double points in the season’s first AA rated event, the quality of the riding didn’t disappoint.

Female Flowboard is perfect example, as shuv its and Ollie maneuvers are now being thrown down by many of the ladies and almost required if you intend to get to the finals. Amanda McCormick, FL has raised the stakes with stylish riding, sticking 180 and 360 shuv its in a routine which put her on the podium for the second straight event. Jessica Nichols, of UT 2ND placed second.   A battle of locals took place in the Female Bodyboard as Danielle Gray, VA took the win over Elizabeth Sowers, VA.

Rhett Blake earned his first Victory of the season as he edged out Cameron Lodge, AL in JR Bodyboard with some solid prone and DK routines.  Defending JR Flowboard Champ, Christian Cook, AL had another strong showing as he ripped his way to the top spot yet again. The Men’s Bodyboard and Flowboard were the two largest divisions of the event and to advance to the finals was a major accomplishment.  Neil Brown, VA rode strong again in Men’s Bodyboard laying down powerful combos in both prone and DK making it back to back victories.

Men’s Flowboard was crazy with Aaron Dean proving local knowledge and home court has an advantage.  Dean rode clean with flawless runs packed with expert maneuvers to win over Robert Puls, MN 2ND. Another Local taking advantage was Masters Bodyboard Winner Chuck Proctor, VA.  South Jersey was once again in the house and made their presence felt as Steve Salman, NJ earned his first Victory in the Masters Flowboard.  Drop Knee final was a huge crowd favorite as the style and skills on display were amazing.  Justin Montalbano, VA used his local knowledge to lead him to the victory over 2009 Champ Aaron Furman, VA.

The Expert Bodyboard (Pro’s) Final was another stacked heat that featured progressive riding from finalists . Defending Champ Nick Nguyen, TX added new moves to his technical arsenal, pushing him to the top of the podium and claiming the $ 600.00 top prize.  Hayley Balderrama, CA took home 2nd and $ 300.00 performing stylish routines complete with advanced prone and DK maneuvers. 

Expert Flowboard was the event highlight, with the top four riders all bringing it!  Sean Silveira, FL narrowly claiming the $ 600.00 first place prize over Nick Nguyen, TX 2nd who pocketed $ 300.00.
