Recognising that the local community needs it's own platform to show their skills, Wave House will run a completely separate contest series for Singaporeans. This will have it's own qualifying rounds, heats and a final, with the winner crowned as the Sentosa Champion.

The International FLOW Champ contestants will also be on hand to coach and encourage the contestants, making sure that they get the maximum benefit from their brief time with the top riders in the world.
"Singapore is home to an enthusiastic, talented boardriding community and we're certain that once they see how much fun flowriding is they're gonna catch on very quickly," said Ashley Rungasamy, manager of Wave House Sentosa. "I'm sure that next year when we send our first team to the IFC's we'll be on an even footing with the other countries. This competition will open the eyes of the local community to their own potential."
Qualifiers will be held in early October and the riders with the most promise will be selected to ride in semi finals judged by the visiting Pros.
"We're gonna make it as easy as possible for everyone to get involved," said Wave House VP of Branding Bob Puetz. " When Wave House Durban opened they ran a contest for the locals and some of the guys who competed in that are now among the best in the world. We want to share the stoke and this is a great way to jumpstart the riding scene."
Finals for the local contest will be held alongside the IFC finals on the last day of competition, with each of the finalists having a pro "coaching" him for the main event.
We will hold a local contest to accommodate the new Wave House Singapore riders. The prelim heats will be run on the first day and the finals will be held during the main event finals with the pro riders. This contest is purely to give the local riders a chance to be in the spot light. We would need 12 riders maximum and run the competition in a jam style format, judged by the expert riders. In order for this to work, Singapore will have to have a pre-qualifier prior to the opening weekend to select the 12 riders for the local contest. The jam style format will be broken into 3 heats of 4. The top 8 riders from round 1 with the highest score totals will move on to the semi-finals. The top 4 riders from the semi-finals with the highest score total will move on to the finals. Each local rider will be assigned a pro rider to help coach them and get as far as possible.
