Young Guns - Max Solokov

Max Sokolov, 12

Max Sokolov is a 12 year old young gun from Dubai. He's sponsored by O'Neil Clothing and Wild Wadi Dubai. He started riding in 2003 as a bodyboarder and then switched to stand up a few years later.

His favorite rider is Eric Silverman and says it's because, "that guy just goes huge." His favorite tricks include the strapless air-walk and the front side whirly bird flip (strapped). His favorite movie is The Simpsons Movie and he has visited the waves in Durban, Singapore, San Diego, Raging Waters in San Dimas and Vista.

He hopes to one day be the World Champion Flowrider and would put a Wave House in Dubai if he could. He's into heavy metal music and is inspired by snowboarding and of course, by his friends.

Of D-Rex, the FlowBarrel Double in Durban, he says it's faster and better than other waves he has ridden. He rides both strapped and strapless, but says that strapless is a greater challenge for him. He'd like to see Flowboading go to the X Games and the Olympics in the near future. He would like to thank his sponsors for backing him with free riding so that he can train to accomplish his goal of becoming world champ.
